JEFFCO sp131

1:1 Adhesive Paste

Back to Civil Engineering page

System SKU: sp131
System Category: Civil Engineering

DESCRIPTION:
Jeffco 131 is a high modulus, fire retardant, structural epoxy adhesive paste for quick bonding of similar and dissimilar materials. Jeffco 131 unique aggregate filled system allows it to spread or trowel with ease of application on virtually any surface. Thixotropy makes 131 excellent for many vertical or overhead applications. The convenient color-coded (“A” white and “B” black) 1:1 volumetric mix ratio is field use friendly. Jeffco 131 is a 100% solids formulation containing no solvents, low toxicity, and low cure odor. Ships DOT non-regulated.

APPLICATIONS:
Use Jeffco 131 to bond similar to dissimilar materials. Also finds use as a faring compound with good sanding properties.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Jeffco 131 bonds well with minimal surface preparation and in the presence or moisture but it is recommended to remove contaminates such as standing water, rust, and dirt. Substrate sanding or scuffing will enhance bond capabilities. Jeffco 131 does not bond well to some untreated plastics or to surfaces contaminated with petroleum products.

MIXING: Use Jeffco 131 between 45° and 100°F. Thoroughly mix parts “A” (white) and “B” (black) until a consistent gray color is achieved. Apply the mixed Jeffco 131 by trowel or putty knife to desired thickness. Clamp or apply pressure if possible. Surfaces are tack free with “green” strength development in 2 hours and fully developing in 48 hours at 77°F.
